Replacing paper inspections with a mobile workflow
Norway's Regional Safety Representatives carried paper forms on site because their reporting system only worked on desktop. They then spent up to a day each week typing those notes into the system. We designed a mobile workflow for recording inspections where the work happened.
My role
I led the workflow redesign from early wireframes through high-fidelity prototypes and several rounds of user testing. I also created a design system for phone and tablet, with accessible type and controls suited to field conditions.
The new workflow let inspectors complete a report during the site visit. This removed the weekly transcription step, kept the data closer to the original inspection, and returned that time to field work.
